Friday is fine.:)
Will pm you tomorrow to arrange a time,
Now I must go to bed, as I have to be up early to find glitchy dishwasher tablets!:D:DN1LDA:D0 -
I went to A earlier. I was fine with scanning my APG. The new system identifies that the voucher relates to the receipt. Afterwards, I was approached by a member of staff who wanted to check the receipt - which was fine, here you are - look. Obviously they've got no confidence in their own system:rotfl:.
Unfortunately I'm having a receipt scare at the moment. A bit like a car keys scare but I've lost my receipt:o. Oh well, some you win, some you lose. It will either turn up. Or it won't. I hope that, if it does, it still works when I enter my receipt.
I noticed there were quite a few RTC offers on air freshener products. Unfortunately I did not spend the time taking details of them:wall: - I'd done enough price collecting for the day - and someone will need to check what is on RTC and what the prices elsewhere for it are.
I did notice one though - the Air Wick Double Fresh Plug In Unit. I am no good in finding anything that works:(. It is £2 instore but showing £4 individual price for A online. M is £1. Unfortunately, I know for a fact that this does not currently compare against M:(. There is an extremely remote chance that it will change on the next update, but I don't think it will as they will likely check the same M stores and I reckon there's no indication of it in any of them. I have it, so far, in only 3 out of 36 stores - if they were to check the store at Stone, Staffs. (I do get around:D) they would very probably - as this was a few days ago now - get the price of £2:( as that is what it is showing in there. It's extremely unlikely they check Stone, Staffs. They would need to have it at £1 in one of my two stores, or somewhere else that has it at £1 SEL, in order to get a £1 price. I reckon that, if they got £2 from one, they would be very likely to have no trace in their five other M stores. I think they will have no trace in all six anyway:(. I am having difficulty finding it in many Ms at all.
Maybe their putting a £2 price onto it in A indicates that they have some information that M is £1 and that it will work after the next update:think:. However, I doubt it is anything to do with that. They've just decided to clear out some 'old' products and this happens to be one of them.
It's no good comparing against T at £4 (it does pick up T price as of last weekend) as 40p off £2 price is more expensive than buying in M.0 -
I went to M earlier and, instead of going to my usual second store, I decided to drive out a bit farther than I normally do and use a different store. I wondered if I would account for the stuff I had outstanding in that new (for me) store but, in the event, I did find that I got quite a lot sorted in there, even though I spent a little bit more time because the layout was new to me. I only had a few items still outstanding after that big town store and did a quick check for them in one of my home stores when I got back (and found yet more items in there:rotfl: - including one item that has newly gone onto an offer but wasn't stocked at all (and no indication of) in my primary store or in the other store I used.
At first, I wasn't finding anything extra in the new store. And then, when I thought I already had 9 different branded lollies packs, I found a further one:rotfl:. Then my mouth almost dropped in astonishment when I saw the Uppercrust 4 pack pies!
I'm very sorry - I didn't know that M still stocked them:o:o. I'm sorry that I removed them from the list when you were buying them in your store and wondered why I suddenly deleted them even though they remained there for months! Clearly, I need to stare harder at the shelves in my stores and imagine the Uppercrust Pies are there. They are just not there and there are no SELs for them at all. I deleted them months ago from my list some time after they had disappeared and left no trace in all of my six stores and even at times when, on a rare occasion, I went out to one of three others, there was never any indication of them in there.
If this store now had been one of my home stores, then I would have kept the pies on my list and been staying M still stocks them and I would have had a different range of lollies packs on my list and not got the single one that I had from my 'own' stores!
I then also found the Savers Meatballs in Tomato Sauce tin:rotfl:. However, I've also found these has appeared, only today, in one of my own stores (though it is still absent from the other) so it looks like it may be coming back into M. In my new store, I also got an item that I know about from other stores but isn't in my home store:rotfl:.
Now that I think about it, from the top of my head I can think of four items that are in my main City store but which I have not found elsewhere. My other regular store has an item that isn't stocked in the city store; in fact it has got several others too. Each time I have a list of about 30 items that I compile whilst going around my primary store as these items are not stocked in that store and I need to take them to elsewhere. I had thought that that was because my primary store was smaller; however it occurs to me now that this is a similar situation to the extra items that I am finding in every store.
The Uppercrust Pies were - and still are - on RTC offer. What seems to have happened in that store is that there was never an offer label to say "Reduced to clear", that might have attracted shoppers' attention and sold the product out, instead the £1.24 SEL has been put there and the product remained on the shelves. Of course, M hasn't changed the price at all, they've just remained there, on their system, at that price indefinitely. In fact, they have both the Minced Beef & Onion and the Chicken & Vegetable version. They are both in this store! So, if this is your local store (and it will be for some people), then I've now found these items in your store that were there available to you all along!
There is only a SEL for Minced Beef & Onion and none for the Chicken & Vegetable version. Therefore, if the price collectors were in this store, they should take the price for the Minced Beef & Onion only and, were it to be comparable from elsewhere, it would compare. However the Chicken & Vegetable version would be given N/A on the result from this store as they couldn't collect a price without a SEL:(. Worse, it seems they may be unlikely to find the product in one of their other stores - as I have found it only in this store and no indication at all even of its existence in any of the other 35 stores. However, it is possible that it may be in stock elsewhere and they could use that store and it could have a SEL for both, or for the Chicken & Vegetable only in which case, were it comparable, Chicken & Vegetable would be compared. It all seems very much of a lottery.
There is no indication that the product is RTC in the store I've found it in; therefore, if this were TBG, which 'should' not compare to RTCs, it could do so if it were to be stocked in T (I do not think it is so this is hypothetical - but nonetheless a useful explanation of how I understand the system might work). As it seems they are unlikely to find it in their other two stores, there would moreover be no conflicting information and no RTC information for them to use to mark it N/A. It would be N/A in the other stores, but picked up in this store which is good enough.
I will add the items from this new store onto - or back onto - my list. I remembered some RTCs from earlier - some of which I have still not found again but I feel sure, for example, that there will be other M sweets bags at 23p, in some M store, besides the Cherries sweets, and that my list is currently lacking them. I can't put them on because I do not know what they are!()
I had quite forgotten about the Uppercrust Pies and was surprised when I saw them. Of course, I would not have been surprised if I had used that store all along! If this had been my home store, I would have used it instead - and would have been surprised if I had travelled out of the area to what is actually my home store and seen the items there that I would have thought M no longer stocked!:rotfl: In the unlikely event (which is unlikely for every M store, but... it has got to happen for some of them) that the price collectors used this store, they would, I think, miss some of the items in my home store if they do not find them elsewhere - so, some of the items on my list from my home store, ought also be marked to indicate that they might not work because I am not finding those in many other places.
I don't think it is all RTCs - I have found another item, new to me, in this store that I have found nowhere else - and it's, again, not a local or regional product.
I found it quite funny that I found the Uppercrust Pies though:rotfl::rotfl:. It's adding a new aspect to the price collection and I rather like making these 'discoveries' (that all of you whose home store that store is would see as trite and school-boy - it's hardly a discovery, it's in plain sight Savvy!:p - and would be shouting at me "why have you taken them off your list when they are clearly on good offer in M?:mad:":rotfl:).
Meanwhile, I'm also changing my opinion on the Adidas Ice Dive and Game shower gels as I am finding those now elsewhere, so it may be that they are appearing in more Ms and that they may compare, although I don't know whether they will do so yet.0 -
I did collect some Cheese Truckles - I don't know whether they'll turn out to be good enough to get to "the list" but I'm not confident that I have got all of them from even the three stores:rotfl:. My primary store alerted me to them - I thought they may be more than it had though. My new second store this time - they don't have them at all (and there are no SELs for them) - I went all the way around the chiller aisles about three times. My third store - I think I may have got an extra one (will check that when I get to it) but I still think there are more versions out there somewhere!:rotfl::rotfl:
I identified the Savers Ham & Beef Paste that isn't stocked these days (and there's no SEL for) in any of my two regular stores and,, got wrongly deleted off the list when it appeared that M no longer stocked it:rotfl:. I think I may have put it back on the list already when the APG, to my surprise, compared. It should have been no surprise at all if I had checked this new store throughout!! However, I have lost the Savers Sardines tin this time, as it is now not in either of my two usual stores (and no SEL now for it) and wasn't in the new store (there was no SEL evidencing it either). This may be going out of M stores, although I feel that it is surely still in some M somewhere, so I will keep it on my list. It seems to me there may be a greater possibility of this returning N/A from this time as it may be the A price collectors get no product and no SEL in any of their six stores; so I reckon it's an Avs T item seen as safer this time than the vs M comp.
As for the offers/changes in M, not much change (as far as I can tell!) - the cupcake mixes have gone up in price. I think the Apricots punnet have gone back to straight £1 from 2 for £1.50 offer price. I have two stores vs one on that - however, if I had gone to other stores than the ones I went to, I may have got the reverse and be making the other conclusion. The Pork Mince, that is the one that was wrongly being compared to, looks like it is going from £1.75 to £1.86 but ought to still work albeit maybe against £1.86 (or perhaps they will get £1.75 lowest price) (the real pork mince is still £2.75). Oat So Simple packs are £1 and Old El Pasos have gone to £1.81 (they were £1.64, if I recall, at some brief period last year - meaning that £2 offer prices ever since have been excluded from my list as being no good - anyway the own brand versions are £1.75 - but £1.81 is a bit better price so they will be going onto the list!).
The Pot Noodle 4 packs are £2 (have been £1.92 before, but, again not too bad if they coincide with any glitch:rotfl:) - again, it will depend on which store(s) they check. There's an issue from my first store - the Chicken & Mushroom is fine but the other two versions are showing full price. In my second store, there is no issue at all. It depends which scheme we are talking about. On the APG, if they get conflicting prices, they should take the lowest one. In other words, they should be okay as other stores will probably have the correct price (the offer price) showing on them (however I don't know on what basis I say that). On TBG, it should depend on most common price, so if they get two that are correct, then it should pick up the offer; if however two of their stores have unchanged SELs, then it should compare to full price M:(.
I'll update the list with the real price and the other items I now have. I'll be inconsistent this time, as instead of putting the re-discovered items on the list in non-bold (should never have been removed!), I'll turn the whole lot to non-bold and then add all the items newly found this time onto the list in bold so you can see what has been added.:)0 -
I just take the prices of the items that I find in the stores I happen to check and, whether the items will work or not on the price comparison schemes, they go onto my list:cool:. I can use any store. Perhaps someone should test A/T, and get a basket of enough items, if they need them, to compare, all of which I have marked as probably won't work and see which, if any, of them do. It will be 'great' if you get a complete non-comparison as just shows how unable to do the job the systems are - if indeed that turns out to be the case - maybe  everything will compare?:rotfl:. I expect not though - and then we can go and tell them that they didn't match/better M by 10% as M stocks this item here in Store A, it sells this item in Store B, this other item is available in this other store and the other item there is sold by them here. So, match/beat the prices of M please!:D:rotfl::rotfl: Maybe - hopefully - with a bit of compensation for the failure (if it turns out to be) of the system!
We know more information on here than the supermarkets themselves know about their competitor!:rotfl:
The point of course is that people generally buy the items that look good - or at prices they are 'willing' to pay - in the store they shop in. But, if someone did go to their local M store and find items that they then decided to shop for elsewhere and compare, then they should be compared against those items (where they are not excluded promotions, stickered items etc.) and, if this was their local M store, then they would find those items in there. Any M store could be, and is, someone's local store. So we could buy any item that is apparently available (has a SEL for) in M at any of its non-M Local stores and that's the price we would have paid had we shopped for and bought it at M.0 -

I got the all clear from the nurse today. My lovely friend and neighbour Henry passed away on Monday. I'm very upset about it. I shouldn't be. He was 95, had an amazing life and he wasn't Ill. he just gave up and fell asleep in his bedroom chair. I'm missing him greatly. it's been a lonely week where I didn't go looking for cheap ale for him. I'm missing him madly and have cried a lot.
I have had a message to ring up about my scan results too but I didn't. I just want another day before I do. I'll ring up tomorrow. God damn the people who can't wait0 -

No matter how old someone was, you will feel upset. The closer you were to someone, it seems to me, the greater the loss. You know it rationally as well though - indeed he's had a 'good innings'. Do take care of yourself. People go and life goes on.
I miss people. I miss people that are still alive:rotfl:. Someone breaks up or falls out with someone and - though my relationship with the person was good* - I never get to see them again:(.
*I don't know anyone that I don't get along with. Maybe I just look at things rationally and don't have any basis for falling out with anyone - it really doesn't matter, I don't hold grudges and it all starts from a clean sheet with me - whereas people, normally, it seems, just fall out.0 -
Are the Pepsi 30 packs really OOS in A at expensive £11 price or do they just remove items from a.com because they don't want to better M's price?:mad: (Conspiracy theory.) Well, either way, we'll just buy in M!:p M has put its price down to even better than it was. I'm sorry if you can't find this in your M: Pepsi 30 pack is in virtually every store I've seen, so, based on that, it seems you are very unlucky (nonetheless, it may just happen to be the stores I've checked). However, my first store this time only had the Diet version and was OOS of the other two, so stocks may now be lower in some places. There was no problem with all three versions being well in stock in the second store I used.0

I'm going to update the M list later as it's too much for now - I'm tired! (Not unreasonably:rotfl:) It's been a long day!
See you later:wave:.0
