You could try it. If you're polite and friendly you may be surprised.0

What phone is it? Phones nowadays come with a 24 month warranty, like Nokias and Sony Ericssons, so if Argos won't help you, you could always send it back to the manufacturer to be fixed.0 -

If its a mobile phone (which you didnt say in the first post) then they will send away for repair but you will get a bill for it.0

i think you have some rights under the sale of goods act by saying that just cause the phone as 12mth warranty it should last longer than that...i done this last year with currys and a 2 yearold tv that packed in alltogether...got a little advice from trading standards and a few persistant calls form me but hey...they backed down0

Finally someone that talks sense!
OK, ignore LooseCannon, he doesn't know what he is talking about.
Under the Sale of Goods Act, an item must be fit for purpose, and within this provision must least a reasonable time. 15 months is not a reasonable time for a mobile phone to last, contrary to what many retailers think!
Explain to Argos your rights under SOGA. If they will not take action then report them to Trading Standards, and get a reference number for your complaint (from TS). Then write to Argos (Recorded Delivery) quoting your rights under SOGA, and your communications with Trading Standards.
Hopefully, you'll get a very nice apology and the offer of a repair! xGone ... or have I?0 -
great cheers for that0
