If the comping god is Norse I should be winning all the time! ;) I only started comping in September and at the time I read somewhere on the forum that the ratio for wins to entries is around 1:1,400 - if I exclude dailies, advents & twitter (don't do FB) this seems just about right! Good luck and only do it if you enjoy it! :)

To quote myself from a thread from a while ago. The sentiment is the same.

Just because you enter a lot is not by any means a guarantee of winning anything.
You're up against statistics and odds, and to be honest the odds are stacked against you due to the sheer number of other entrants. You need to use the enter and forget method.
You could be comping for 10 years and enter a million comps and not win anything (not even a fish slice!) or you could enter only one comp in your life and win the prize of your dreams so its all about luck.

If you win, great! If you don't, on to the next comp! Comping is not an easy hobby (well not as easy and fruitful as the media make it out to be) you've just got to stick with it and hopefully persistence will pay off eventually.

yes, it can be annoying and frustrating when youre entering what seems like millions and getting nothing back but its just a lottery at the end of the day.

I've been entering comps online since August 2009 and I've won exactly 3 times.

    1) A stainless steel cocktail shaker
    2) A weekend break to Cornwall (which I never actually received)
    3) A fragrance

Doesn't seem like much of a reward for entering my details literally thousands of times and clogging up my email address with endless spam.

But you're expected to show sympathy to people whining about their "dry spell" because they haven't won anything in like a month. Then you look at their signature and it looks like this:

    Best wins of 2015:

    ITV Real Deal £5000
    Holiday to Hawaii
    £1000 Amazon voucher

    Best wins of 2014:

    This Morning £20,000
    50 inch LED television
    £2500 new bathroom

    etc

I'm sure I saw one member who'd won Real Deal three times.

I have been a member for just over 1 year now and still have not won a thing! Is there a Norse Compo God i can pray too?

Keep trying though I will! :rotfl:

Been comping for about 5 years and had a couple of decent wins (Macbook, break in York) and a few smaller ones but very little in last couple of years AND I've just had a completely blank 2015 despite over 20000 entries
Does get frustrating at times but all you can do is keep trying
    2025 : over 3 years without a win. Then 4 in a couple of months - 3 books and a small That’s Life prize 🎉🎉🎉
