Indesit dryer modification

I am sorry if this is not the correct forum to post this but I didn't know where to put it!

I registered my dryer when the concerns were publicised in November.
Received an automated reply that I would be contacted within 5 weeks.
I have allowed for the Christmas break and a bit more but still no contact.
Just spent over 30 minutes on the phone trying to get some information...on hold, different phone numbers, on hold again...to be told that there is now an 8 week delay and if engineers haven't been in touch with me in 3 weeks to ring again!

Just wondering how many others are in the same boat.
Might make me feel a bit better!

    Thanks.
Mine says 5 weeks and I contacted Indesit on the 24/11.
  • Mine is 5 weeks from 24 November. In the meantime cannot leave unattended.

I am frustrated at the lack of customer care/ concern from the company.
No email update on the change in timescale and being told to contact them if I haven't heard from the team of engineers within the next 3 weeks.
I bought their product in good faith and registered it on purchase.
Now it seems that I have to do the chasing up.
I suppose I have to to ensure safety in my own home.
  • I sent in the email for my drier in November, and the engineer came in mid December to do the work. It took about an hour. I was kept fully informed by email right up to the day before, and then on the day got an email saying what time the engineer would arrive. The engineer himself rang me 15 minutes before he arrived.

Last week, we registered my sister's machine, which is 11 years old, and the reply she got said it would be about six weeks before the work could be done.

Mine's a Hotpoint ( same company ) Eight weeks wait so far . I found the past few years the customer care at Hotpoint is not as it used to be When I replaced my last Hotpoint Washer last year I chose the German option .

Good to hear that someone has had the modification carried out and has had a positive experience.
Hopefully we will all have a positive outcome......sooner rather than later.

I was one of the ones who contacted Hotpoint when I saw the item on the news and my tumble dryer was replaced the week or so after that. My chum has the same dryer and she got hers today. The man delivering them said he had thousands to do so it maybe depends where you live.
