in Cutting tax
When i was 18 I got my moms life insurance however because it was with AXA isle of man I got a chargeable event which means i owed tax on the money I didn't understand this at the time. Long story short the money is now gone and HMRC are wanting their tax money. I've had a letter recently to say as of April they will be taking money from my earnings which I don't think I have a problem with as I want to pay it back. I just wanted to know if anyone has any idea of how much they would take as I don't have the most amazing wage. I currently owe them about £7,000.

I'm surprised the letter doesn't say, although perhaps that will be in a follow up letter, but the sensible thing to do would be to ring them up to ask - do it early in the day (before 8) for the best chance of getting through without a wait.0
