Nearly there.... don't give up

I never thought I would say I was only 2 months away from being debt free but it's finally here. As you can see I joined the forum and discovered the amazing stepchange in 2009. It's been a long slog but I will finally be out of debt and able to look to the future.
I've checked my credit file and it's been steadily improving with every card and loan paid off. My defaults have dropped off and things are getting better.
I just want to say don't give up and for any newbies don't be afraid to start your debt free journey no matter how daunting.
I owed £36k when I started, my husband was so angry and upset with me but he has supported me all the way through and we might finally have our dream of moving from our flat to a house this year with my new found love of saving. I also have a trip to New York to look forward to in November and not one ounce of debt has paid for it. I've been using the credit union to save my wages and any overtime I have accrued.
I can honestly say joining this forum was the best thing that ever happened to me.
Thanks so much for all your help!
No longer depressed but still determined x

I cleared my 11k debt last year and it feels amazing. I also learned so much about living frugally when I was clearing my debt that now I am saving a large proportion of my income every month now as well.:j DEBT-FREE AS OF 3/11/15 :T

Thanks for all the lovely replies. Only people who have been struggling with debt will understand how hard it is to make the changes.
I've applied to be a volunteer at the citizens advice bureau and should start in the spring. Really hope I can use my experiences to help others and give them the support that I had.
Big well done to each and every one of you xxxLBM: 09/12/2008
