Is it worth aiming to pay off the mortgage if you have a shared ownership property?

I am wondering, for example, whether it's better to save in an ISA or high interest account and then try to buy more shares in the property, but that of course would be hard because as the value goes up, so does the share price.
So is it better to concentrate on paying off the mortgage, so that I actually 'own' more of the 30% share I have?
What do people think?

I suppose it depends at what rate the property is going up in value and how long it will take you to staircase up to the next %age ownership. In somewhere like London, I would personally be paying down the chunk I 'owned' rather than start chasing the next chunk, the market is far too irrational!0
