Orange, default on credit report.

Hi everyone,
In October i cleared all credit card debts, my phone bill, and my loan as well as catalogues. They were driving me crazy.. literally haha. I kept one credit card (paid fully off) just for emergencies.
The issue is almost everything has been marked as "satisfied" or "settled" on my credit report, except orange. I closed my Orange account in early october before the bill was due. It's marked as defaulted for October and November AND December!!? It's really frustrating because I worked hard to pay everything off and this is still happening.
I called them and well basically i got fobbed off. They claimed it's the credit report companys fault, and then the credit report people said it's Orange. Orange DID admit my account is closed and said they would send a letter which i never received.
Im at a bit of a loss really and it's making me quite down in my mood. I have no idea how to improve my credit score right now. I'm 22, disabled so no job and in the middle of studying. How do i improve from 0.. without getting new credit :O.
EDIT: Another quick question, i basically ruined my credit score but now ive paid it all, how long will it be before it doesnt look deathly bad?
Yours happily,

Hi,
Can I just ask,
Why do you want to improve your imaginary credit score ?
Are you wanting to borrow again ?

One day in the distant future yes! I'd to like to be able to have a mobile phone on contract and perhaps have things like a internet/tv and phone package at my house when I move next year.
I appreciate your reply but that doesn't really help me. Sorry, i'm just looking to improve. I'm not going to "live by the number" as that website says haha rather just.. live debt free.0 -

Right,
Well with regard to orange, they have terrible customer service.
I would normally say write to them, and complain, but every letter I have ever sent them, has been ignored, so I would recommend you go to the information commissioners website, and file a complaint with them.
They have the power to sort out your issue.

They also have a helpline which may be useful to you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. You should also tell Orange that unless they sort your complaint, you will be taking them to the communications ombudsman.

Wouldn't credit file reporting fall under the remit of the ICO ?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. In terms of strictly data protection, yes.
In terms of treating customers fairly then the ombudsman can look at it as well.
Just in the same way that the FOS can look at credit file issues on accounts under their remit.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Did you give the 30 days notice to Orange and pay that before closing the account?0
