I had an email from Tesco today to say there is now a £2 charge for click and collect from stores for orders under £30.
I found C&C useful for DD in uni to buy things and she can collect from her local store for free.

just been on there twitter page over another issue and loads of people are messaging them?
its funny reading there replies trying to justify it!0 -
I think its fair enough, someone has to pick and pack all of your shopping so £2 for orders under £30 seems very reasonable to me.

I use food home shopping quite a bit. It's been useful for DD away in Uni as she can stock up on her frozen veg etc. and not have to carry it home. Plan ahead and you can get £1 delivery slots.
Tesco direct. I use for buying so much as it saves me driving 4 miles to nearest extra store for non food items. I order on line and collect next day from express store near me but I don't always hit the £30 mark. I send stuff to DD this way too. I can use Ebay but I found Tesco direct quicker as if I ordered early enough it would be there next day whereas Ebay maybe 2 or 3 days.
I wonder if I spend over £30 and get free delivery then return 1 item when I pick it up if that will still mean free delivery!~Laugh and the world laughs with you, weep and you weep alone.~:)

This is Tesco Direct. For food shopping you normally pay a delivery charge and yes I don't understand why it's free to have someone do your shop but they obviously find the business it generates cost effective.

Sorry I didn't see that you had said Tesco Direct, I assumed you meant groceries.
I buy quite a lot from Direct but I always get it delivered, I suppose they are trying to justify someone preparing your order etc in the same way that the groceries side does although you could have one item thats under £30 at Direct so it could be considered a bit unfair.
I can't see why you can't order over £30 and return one item though.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
