CCJ - After 6 Years?

Hi All,
About 6-7 years ago I ran into financial difficulties and as well as a DMP, ended up with a CCJ and Charging Order for the largest debt. This was granted in February 2010, so hits 6 years next month.
I've now paid off the DMP and ~60% of this debt, and will continue to pay it until its settled - which will take another 2-3 years at the present rate.
So, the question is... What happens to the CCJ and CO after the 6 year anniversary. Are both still "live" until the debt is settled, or does the status of one, or both of them, change now?
If they are still valid, is there anything I need to do when the debt is finally settled?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
CCJ's don't become statute barred I'm afraid, it will disappear from your credit file after 6 years, however, as they have a charging order in respect of the debt, it would be unwise to not pay it.
If you pay off the amount you owe under the charging order, you can apply to the court for the order to be discharged. Ask the court for a certificate of satisfaction on your county court judgment and include evidence of payment.
You can then use the certificate to get the Register of Judgments, Orders and Fines changed. This should make it easier for you to get credit.
It is usual for creditors to inform the Land Registry that the interim and final charging order have been discharged.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thanks for the useful info. I fully intend to pay it off, and that will happen sometimes in the next 2-3 years if life doesn't intervene.0
