Hi All,

Are there any outlets around Belfast that purchase damaged laptops?

Thanks in advance.

Tried a few people on Gumtree but they never responded.

It's a laptop I have in storage, works fine but the screen has become partially detached from the rest of the device.

eBay's about the best place - good pics and an honest description of the fault. You should post it for best value, but you can set local only - you'll get less money.

    +1, totally agree.

Mark it "spares or repairs" in the title and give it a good write up.

What's the make & model Cotta?
  • I've used Argos outlet on Ebay before, it's quick delivery (sometimes available to pick up in-store) and you get a year's warranty. I had bought one, used it for 8 months, it stopped working properly, got slow and eventually gave up. Got a full refund.

On my second one now, had it just over a year and working perfectly.

Not that easy to find case spares for that one it would appear. There appear to be several listings for the case lid, but not the whole screen assembly. Perhaps THIS listing is what's needed to repair it?

One laptop on Ebay for spares at the minute for £28 + £8 postage.

There is also a listing for a working laptop which is £85 + postage, and another which is a fiver less. That should at least give you a starting point when thinking about pricing.

I'd be trying to repair the case (assuming it can be done cheaply), and then sell it. More value in the long run.
