getting a mortgage while on probational period (new job)

Hi,
I know most of mortgage providers won't offer a mortgage if you've just started a new job and on a probational period. Do they ask questions about how long I've had my job or they only want 3 months pay slips? Is it possible not to tell them that you are on a probational period?
Thank you.

I don't think you're asked directly if you're on your probation period but they ask the start date of your current job so I'm guessing they figure it out. My partner and I both had to disclose the month/year we started out current jobs and reading a few posts on here a lender will sometimes contact your employer to verify details.0

They'll soon work it out - especially if they seek a reference from your employer.
What's your fall-back to pay the mortgage if you don't pass the probation period ?0 -
There is no way I won't pass the probational period. But if I do fail it, I will be jobless until I find a new job again. I haven't got big savings.

Easy to spot if you've not been in a job long. One big giveaway is the taxable pay to date figure on your most recent payslip
Don't lie to a mortgage lender, the potential consequences aren't worth it.I am a Mortgage BrokerYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Broker, so you need to take my word for it.

Maybe it's easier to discuss the probationary period with my new employer after a month or so in the job.0
