Suggestions for "last ditch efforts" to clean grease spots

Hi

My hubby has a nice habit of getting grease stains down his decent TShirts. I have used Oxy-Clean and other spot removing solutions but some stains just won't go. Most of the shirts are coloured so can't use bleach...

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can use as a last ditch effort before I demote the shirts to the gym drawer? I am willing to risk a bit of damage as even damaged tshirts go into the gym drawer in our household...

I just use plain old fairy liquid for grease stains - squirt some on the stain rub it in a bit then wash as normal. Seems to work ok for me but I try to do it on the first wash iykwim.

Bleach won't help - you need something *soapy* to get rid of grease spots. I use Fairy kitchen soap bar - moisten the grease spot with warm water, and rub both sides of the fabric with the soap. I then leave it to soak in overnight before washing.

Otherwise, give hubby a bib :rolleyes:

I find Oil of Eucalyptus great for getting out unknown stain - available at chemists - and it has the added benefit of getting rid of any lurking colds too! It will not entrench a stain so it`s worth a try. After said garment is washed put it outside in the sunshine as the sun will help to reduce stains too!

How about using swarfega hand wash, and rub it in with a nailbrush, not too heavily if it's good clothes, but great scrubbed into my hubbys working stuff.

Yes I always keep a tub of swarfega next to the washing machine for grease spots it works a treat!! :beer::beer:
