Smelly gym gear in bag all day?
Comments

(there are products which are designed for sports such as Halo)
I was going to mention that.
Do they still sell it at Sainsburys, it seems quite hard to find. Wiggle have it for £4 at the mo but it's normally £6 which I couldn't really justify for 25 washes.
Failing that Dettol laundry cleanser does a decent job with smelly towels and gymwear (but again is pricey), as does adding a few drops of tea tree oil to the detergent drawer.0 -
OP, do you shower the night before the 6am workout?
Also do you wear your trainers outside of the gym too? this could also create an issue.
I would also look at what you eat though as your sweat wouldn't pong so quickly.0 -
You can not ask the coach to leave your clothes in his back room?0

Basically seal your sweaty gym gear in a plastic bag inside your other bag. The plastic bag contains the smell. Untie the bag and chuck it straight in the wash.0

Only did a quick read thro the thread but have a couple of solutions.
Is your gym towel just a normal towel or a gym quick drying microfiber one?
How do you store your gym clothes in your car, just throw gym bag in the boot or put gym bag in the a sealed boxed in the boot (really useful air tight type box).
Do you use any odor neutralizer or eater on your trainers or clothes.
I can't seem to find the products but I remember there being a spray for trainers and balls that you place one in each trainer that were anti bacterial fresheners (you could place in gym bag?).
Found this link they have products that might help https://www.no-stink.com0 -
Could you give the clothes a quick hand wash whilst you're in the shower?
I always do this with my swimming costume then I have a plastic drawstring bag which the wet stuff goes in, then in my gym bag. There's never a smell in the car (and my gym stuff goes in the car at 8.30am, not coming out until 8pm) and only a very mild chlorine smell when I get the wet stuff out to wash in the evening.0 -
I wash an adult blokes footie kit and I can vouch for the fact that it is properly clean when they put it on and smells awful when it goes back in the washing machine. And that's 13 different blokes wearing their kit once!
I think rinsing your top under the shower is a good idea. Not sure about the trainers as I have suffered with damp footie boots in the car but some kind of click lid box sounds an interesting idea.0 -
OMG if men stink that much how come they can ALL get away with not showering everyday?
They don't all wear Acqua di Parma...0 -
If you absolutely love your gym clothes for whatever reason and dont want to throw it away, then have you thought of washing them at 60*C, long wash, using a strong-smelling laundry detergent, and strong-smelling fabric conditioner? That's what I do to clothes that I love and I've had no problem...However, I dont know what your gym clothes are made of, e.g. they might be made of that plastic-y lycra material so it might shrink if you wash it at high temperatures.
Bicarbonate of soda is supposed to be a very good odour remover...but I dont know how you would use that to your advantage because it might not be a good idea to sprinkle that in your trainers (The last thing you want is to mess up your shoes, and then feel horrible crystal things between your toes while youre running...haha!)
I hope this helps!
Don't use fabric conditioner (!)
The way it makes items smell 'fresh' is by leaving a chemical residue containing perfume on the items.
That residue then traps dirt & bacteria.
Use plain (un-fragranced) detergent, & add the same amount of white vinegar.0
