Leaving job & childcare vouchers

Sorry, not sure if this is in the right place.
My husband is being made redundant at the end of this month and doesn't yet have another job to go into. He currently gets the full allowance of childcare vouchers per month and we're hoping a new employer will offer them too!
Anyway, he will obviously have to leave his current scheme and will possibly be looking at joining a different scheme depending on what the new employer offers.
I am concerned he will lose his protected rights to claim the full amount, especially if he ends up in a role which puts him in the higher tax bracket (small possibility).
I've looked on the childcare voucher providers website and they don't answer this but does anyone know how long he might have to start reclaiming again? We also don't want to claim the new scheme which starts early next year as we will be worse off under that also.
