Sorry but you're wrong, I trust you ACTUALLY read the website??

What are the licensing requirements to drive with Uber in South Yorkshire?

Currently we are working under an Operating Licence from Sheffield.

Therefore we are only able to partner with drivers that have Private Hire licences from Sheffield.

A private hire licence to act as a private hire driver, and an operating licence to act as a private hire operator (Uber), are two different things..

There was a programme about Uber on Tv a few stories in the press, nearly all of them slagging it off, including they're on drivers who felp they were being ripped off.
Lots on the web about them

Sorry to bump the thread but anyone have any experience of driving with Uber?
I'm considering it as a side income. Driving weekends and 1 or 2 nights per week what income could you expect after expense?

I'm also considering this as part-time/ stop-gap employment option.
    All info appreciated...

I'm not sure how much of this transfers to the UK from the US, but this was a fairly interesting article on the experience of someone driving for Uber. Note that it's written by someone with fairly strong pro-bike, pro-public transport, anti-car feelings which I don't always agree with, but you can filter those bits out.

  • Has anyone tried Bolt? I heard they're taking less commission.
