Job offer - when to call...

Hello
Now I don't want to sound to desperate or eager (yet I, shamelessly, am both)
I had an interview for a job share on Thursday and it went well - really well in fact, that the manager said she had no qualms, thought I'd fit in well etc and even called the girl who is job sharing in to see what shifts we wanted to do between us.
They are taking on other starters too, some who were doing inductions today and she asked if I could attend. Due to my current work commitments, I was unable to and she said not to worry as it wouldn't stop me getting the job.
She then said she would have the HR Manager call me asap and conduct a telephone interview and we would go from there.
Now I know it's not a bona fide job offer, but how long would you leave it to call them to ask for feedback, as I haven't heard from the HR Manager.....
As I said I am desperate and eager haha x

You had the interview on Thursday and Friday was a Bank Holiday. I would wait at least a couple of days.0

Realistically if they interviewed on Thursday, had a meeting to discuss candidates on Friday odds are the paperwork for HR wouldn't even get done til Monday ........then HR would prioritize it so might look at it Tuesday or Wednesday ......so I'd wait until at least Thursday. (That's assuming they don't have any more candidates to interview this week before deciding)
Although it's very important to you - the people who need to deal with your application may very well have other things to do too and aren't prioritizing as you are.
Frustrating I know but realistic.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Well what exactly did the HR Manager say? What would you be calling the manager back for, didn't HR cover everything?

Sorry, will try to explain a bit better. The HR manager was calling me to give me a telephone interview but she briefly went over my CV/work history then said, well done and good luck...then hung up lol. She never said anything about anyone calling me back! x:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -

I wouldn't call anyone. I'd be waiting for them to call you.0 -
They called about 20 mins ago :-) all good in the hood. Gotta wait for references to go through (oops, haven't told current role I'm looking at leaving!) and a DBS check too.
Thanks again - I swear MSE seems to be my lucky charm x:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -

It is always difficult knowing how long to leave it before chasing employers up. In some roles, such as sales or telemarketing, it may look good to be persistent as that's what the role would require. But HR departments can be notoriously slow so at the same time you don't want to get on anyone's nerves.
Looks like you played it perfectly, good luck on the new job!Digital marketing and internship expert0
