Okay so income tax has been charged continuously in the UK since Peel (he of police fame) reintroduced it at a starting rate of 7D in the £ in 1842.
Income taxes have had a personal allowance (under various names) and differentiated rates charged since it was very first introduced in the late C18th in the UK.0 -
