What is the best wart remover?

I have a horried wart on my thumb, I asked my doctor about having it frozen off (had this before by at another practice) but I was told that I must have tried to remove it for 3 months before they will treat it.
So, I don't want to waste my money here, what is the best treatment?
Wartner claims a single treatment is sufficent which sounds good but maybe too good to be true? You have to buy a 12 application pack though which is annoying as I only have 1 wart. Could buy it new on Ebay for £8.30 inc p&p but will it work?
Can anyone advise?
Thanks
Sarah

Grapefruit Seed Extract should do the trick in a couple of weeks. Apply it daily and cover the wart up and it should disappear.Had £80,000 in Savings - All GONE!!! BYE BYE:A Single, 27, Aspie, Gooner :A0

We cannot give medical advice, but if you look at OTC treatments for corns, warts and veruccas you will see that many contain the same active ingredient. So, get the one with the strongest concentration of it, regardless of whether it says it's for a wart or a verucca or a corn.Signature removed for peace of mind0

My son had 3 warts, Wartner didn't work, but the above did, it took a while though!Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless. ~ Mother Teresa0 -
Is it ok to use for a 5 year old? My daughter has several warts on her hands and we've tried so many things. She really wants to get rid of them and its making her really unhappy that nothing we've tried seems to work. Thanks0

Ask the pharmacy, my son was 11 when i used it, he was really embarassed of them. I hope the link below helps, it's the patient information leaflet!

Don't waste your money on products from the chemist.
I took my 10 yr old to doctor after trying all the expensive wart freeze items on sale in Boots and she told us to use "DUCK TAPE" you put it around the wart and leave it 7 days remove the tape and wash area really well as it will smell, re-apply the tape and in a short time it will go, apparently if you stop it's air supply it will die, I have to say it worked for us0 -
Well I was set to buy Wartner because it sounded really quick & effective but I won't bother now!
I like the idea of the duck tape but I would never be able to keep it on for 5 minutes let alone 7 days BUT I might have ago because it sounds like a good remedy and will cost next to nothing
Thanks everyone!

:rotfl: Great moneysaving idea! I too have spent a fortune in Boots to no avail - no reflection on Boots of course (I an Advantage card addict so Boots is my second home anyway) but would just love a product that would do the job!0
