We had a great Easter day with friends from church coming round for roast lamb. The rest of the break was spent frugally. Lots more healthy plants...
Someone on "Mr Money Moustache" mentioned a Canadian TV programme that's now on YouTube called "Til death do us part." It's not as good as "Spendaholics" (do you remember that?), but I'm working my way through them - good motivation.
I've worked on a yearly budget to see where I can cut some expenses so that we can save more. The biggest area to cut back on is food and household. Eating down the fridge, freezer and cupboards at the moment.
Excited about finances, though. Determined to spend as little as possible between now and July so that we can save money to take with us on holiday.0 -
Til Debt Do Us Part is the number 1 reason I have been so money conscious. When I was in university in Canada, that was on the TV all the time during the day and I would binge watch it. Gail Vaz-Oxlade is my hero! My favourite thing about the programme is that she also encourages you to increase your income. I like that she takes the two prong approach: lower your spending, increase your income. She is also strict but fair!Mortgage started at £318,000 in June 2016. Original MF - 2041
2nd Property Mortgage at £275,000. Mortgage free: 2049
Total OPs: £295290 -
I got through all the seasons of Til debt us do part! Well worth watching - even just to realise that other people might be worse off than you! Great inspiration. There's another programme by Gail Vaz-Oxlade on YouTube called "Money Moron!"0
