Hi all,
I haven't been on this forum since June 2015, but in that time we have set up a DMP with SC and it was the best decision we have made! I feel so in control of my debts and we can finally start planning for the future!
So in 2015, we managed to pay back around £1500 from £9000 debt which leave around £7500. I actually cant believe we managed this! Our debt free date has been calculated at Jan 2020, but i'm hoping to get this paid 2 years earlier as we would like to apply for a mortgage in 2021 and I think you should wait 2 - 3 years after finishing a DMP before applying for a mortgage??
Also, I've just opened a Halifax H2B ISA which ill be putting £100 per month in to build up a lump sum, albeit slowly!
Its a long way off, but life is on the up and in 2 years ill be qualified from my doctorate and earning so much money than my current bursary!! woooooo.
A sincere good luck to all debt free wannabe's!
