A personal observation: I definitely think the new forum format is behind this going to GO all the time. I've switched to the new format and, despite a day of wrapping my head around it, now love it.

It has an expired button on every post though, so newbies could be simply thinking they are doing good, by reporting an individual post as expired. Potentially they have a disconnect in their mind that each post is separate from the OP and thinking MSE wouldn't be so daft to put a expiration reporting option if you were not meant to use it, click away thinking they are helping.

I have a suggestion: each person posting a TAB puzzle solution could consider adding a brief line of text? Something in the angle of "This regular comps thread is unusual for this forum. It should never expire. PLEASE DO NOT CLICK THE EXPIRE BUTTON!! Bad things will happen."
