It's not much, but I've spent the past 3-4 hours going through every email in my inbox/junk/auto-filed folders and either taking action where I can (I lost count of how many things I've unsubscribed from!), filing it in the appropriate folder or deleting it. I now have 6 emails instead of 500, 2 are relating to a purchase that I'm waiting for a refund for, 1 is a reminder that my library card has now expired (I just need to decide if its worth me renewing it as I've not been to the library for a long time), 1 a voucher code which can only be applied when checking out, 1 is a weekly horoscope email I receive each week, and finally one links to a blog post about going paperless which I really want to read and refer back to. My business involves a lot of paper which I can't cut back on so if I can cut down my home/personal paperwork then things will be a lot less cluttered in my office area!
I'm not even attempting to go through all the other email folders though, that's definitely a job for another day!
Not much is actually leaving the house at the moment as the bins are almost full so I'm saving the space for stuff that needs to go this weekCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

We've had a major book sort out and we reckon we have decluttered around 1,000 books, half of which have gone to an Oxfam bookshop, and the rest will go once we have enough banana boxes!
We did start counting them, but then it all just got a bit confusing, and we lost count. I think it would distort the decluttering total so I've taken off my total the 290 books I had logged in our first trawl through books. So my new total is now 530 - which I'm still very pleased with!
Plus DH still has a list of the things evicted from his home office which I'll add to the list as soon as I can get my hands on it!Declutter our home in 2024
