Teacher - Transferable skills

Hi,

I'm a primary school teacher who is looking for a change of career. I'm almost 40 and I feel I have a lot of transferable skills ...but I'm not sure which direction to take.

Has anyone been in the same boat as me or does anyone have any advice?

Lee

If you look on the TES forum, there are lots of similar posts with suggestions of alternative careers!

Leaving teaching is such a common theme that I think there is even a sticky with suggestions!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

My wife has left a FT post and is doing supply and enjoys it.

Good luck! And well done for taking the plunge.
  • I moved from teaching into HR almost 3 years ago and have now re-qualified and got my CIPD membership. Best decision I ever made - I cannot tell you how much happier and healthier I am!

Lady I know moved to a large bank. She's now an assistant VP in corporate secretariat.
  • Ever thought about working in the education department for museums or organisations like English Heritage/National Trust?
