Should I be worried?

Basically I am not the most confident person in the world. I just started a new job where I have to deal with the general public. I was dealing with a customer and I was really nervous and when I spoke to her I sounded really nervous. Two team members heard me dealing with the customer. Now I am worried that might tell management and I could get into trouble.I am still on probation.

You're worried you could get in trouble for sounding nervous? Did you deal with the customer satisfactorily? That's what matters.
You do seem to go through a high number of jobs. Have you thought about what type of work you might be suited to?0 -
How did it come about you felt nervous? Were you listening to a callback? If your colleagues said something ask what they would have done better? I have a colleague who laughs very much out loud when I'm on phone but I've come to realise that's their behaviour and issue
Is the customer complaining? It's like driving make a mistake, move on don't over analyse
I have started to feel stronger in thinking "I can walk away anytime" as I wanted to respond to one of your other posts back in September on the confidence issue
Every day spent is a day safer if that is how you could look at it also x
tomtontom - this person is here for some support - don't you remember saying that in another thread?0 -
Is this the prison job, or another one?
The reason I'm asking is because "dealing with the general public" can cover a multitude of sins. Being nervous in and of itself isn't a problem. If it then affects what you say and how you deal with people then it may become problematic if you can't overcome it in time.
But you're new. You have a line manager who should be supporting you. Have you asked them for feedback? Do you have any reason other than anxiety to think that there might be a problem? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
