Sounds to me like you've had a good long string of luck which has finally stopped.

The choices look fairly black and white to me. Increase your hours for the same pay, or decrease your pay for the same hours.

At least the new headteacher is giving you the flexibility to choose. I expect most would have told you that the requirement is 23.5 hours and if you can't commit then you'd need to resign.

Just one thing to check - if the 23.5 hours were term time only, but you have been working more weeks than that it may partly even out that way.

apparently the business manager has known for years but has never said anything until the new head took up post - if i had known i would have done something about it before now rather than expose myself to possibly having to pay back shed loads of £££

getting paid for 23.5 when working 17 is 38% overpayment.

    you never noticed?
  • I have a similar problem. Last week I found £10 in the street and kept it. This week I have found nothing. This clearly isn't fair, what can I do about it?
