So I haven't posted in a few days but thankfully haven't fallen too badly off the DFW wagon. So payday arrived this week and I'd actually money left over so this goes to show when things are tight it's ossible to survive with careful planning.
I'm working on my budget for the coming month and I did a quick essentials shop and will do the meal plan and a full shop when this is done.
I've managed to put £300 into my various pots and £100 into the buffer. The budget hs a bit of flexibility but hopefully I'll have money left at the end of Feb.
Rather that going payday to payday, which is usually 21st for me and every 4 weeks for OH I'm trying to make what we have last until the end of Feb and then Febs wages will cover March plus 1 week and the same each month until I have a month's buffer. Hopefully that makes sense lol it does to me!
All in all feeling positive and hopefully I can finally start busting this debt and get the all important buffer built up.
Debt at highest May 04 - £65,639.22 - Started DMP with CCCS 1st June 04 & now self managed DMP
Debt now 20th December 2015 £31677.13 Paid Off to date £33962.09 - just not going quickly enough!

Debt free date July 2024! I don't think so, it'll be going quicker than that!!!

Well oops is all I can say lol! took my eye off the ball and have overspent on the budget. Thankfully not a complete disaster but I really need to do better!

So this week I need to go to mkro and get spuds and chicken as I bought a small bag yesterday and they're gone.
Need to meal plan for the week and organise lunches
and most importantly keep on track with the budget! Unfortunately OH not totally onboard and just spends as he feels like it!

OMG! I can't believe that I haven't been on here since Feb but thankfully I haven't been doing too bad though things are a bit tight this week but we won't starve! I did have to take a small loan for an unexpected bill and due to my poor credit the interest rate is high but that has given me the focus to try and get rid of this debt once and for all!
We are still living pay day to pay day so I've taken steps and am trying to earn extra money through various things and have set myself a few challenges!

1.) From now on I will only be buying clothes from charity shops and right now they all seem to have sales on, got a fabulous dress for £2 last week! i might even extend this to presents etc as they do have some good quality stuff!

2.) Menu planning!!!! I do this and then get bored so I'm looking to download an app to help, suggestions welcome! i want to get the food budget down as much as possible. there's very little waste in this house but i want to save money here.

3.) I'm giving myself 24 months to pay off all our historic debt! Now this is a challenge as the total stands at £30173.48  This may seem like a tall order but there is no interest being charged and I pay £200 towards this each month anyway. The plan is to select one debt at a time and concentrate on paying it off! So the first one is the smallest one at £807.80! They've already offered me a full and final of 50% but I can't take up the offer just yet but when I have almost that amount i will try and negotiate. I hope to be able to do this with each of them and get rid once and for all. We do have some 'new' debts but i will just pay the minimum on them for now even though they are costing interest as I want to get rid of this historic debt!

4.) Sell everything that's sellable and not required! Should be interesting!
