I'm watching people's experiences with CCAs with great interest as I decide whether to go down that route myself. Being a total wimp:o I'm terrified of rocking any boats when my DMP is running smoothly and my predators have all gone very quiet;)
Like you, it's the puzzlement of what to look for in any documentation I might receive and what to do with any information that seems 'wrong' that is stopping me doing anything at all. Procrastination is a mega character flaw of mine:o
Good Luck in getting some good advice from other posters and in whatever you do next:beer:. I'll be following with interest while I dither about deciding whether to dip my toe in;)
Good to see you over here CBC!!
It is your right to pay £1 to have a copy of the CCA. Put aside any worries about rocking the boat......it won't. I'll go even further.......it can't.......it is not allowed to rock the boat and that's official.
I have shed more than half of my predators without asking for a CCA and guess what? Come 2016 and I am sending out CCA requests on the final few. I knew people were doing it and read about it on here a million times but I didn't do it.
I would however strongly recommend you do request these to see what happens. It may give you grounds for complaints which are always useful for a bit of leverage on a settlement.
For me.......I am not walking away from any and I know some people are. However, the absence of an agreement following a request would seem to put me in a position of writing the rulebook.
I'll treat them all fairly.....honest.

BOS did get their act together post 2007 on CCAs, for the most part, and I would not be surprised if what has been sent is a reconstituted copy that complies with a s77-9 request.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Thanks Mate
HMS HBoS was putting so much time and resource into their post 2007 CCA's they didn't see the huge rock in the water in front of them which they hit and promptly sank .
The captain and senior officers were we are informed incompetent to the point of criminality.
I am completely relaxed with this Ferni. If they have got the CCA right they have........the rest is just me sounding off about one of the most appalling financial disasters ever.........0 -
Thanks again for the help I have received here.
I am posting today just to update as it’s a bit rude to seek help and then disappear…..:o
BoS sent me another letter after their ‘sternly-worded’ previous one. God knows why they sent it…..and its signed off by the same automaton. This time it is clearly the automaton’s own home-made letter and not the corporate message with the weight of the (bust) bank. The letter says they cannot provide me with a copy of the signed agreement because ‘they cannot find it’ :rotfl:....that's impressive! They then advise that they do not need to provide a signed copy because the reconstituted copy shows the debt is enforcable. OK……got it……I didn’t even ask for a signed copy so whay are they getting their panties in a twist….? OK….I’ll drop it and arrange some sort of discounted settlement with them when I can.
The Gnat’s Vest have now sent me a signed copy of the CCA from 2009….I couldn’t remember the precise year. OK….I cannot see anything worng with this so I’ll drop it and arrange a discounted settlement with them when I can.
So Arrow Global……they lied to me in writing and they do not have the CCA so I am still waiting, whilst remembering their lie……….
The other interesting one is ex-MoreThan, ex-Lloyds now PRA collected by Floorcroft. Nothing heard at all in three weeks. The passing around / trading credit card books and the entrance of PRA with subdelegated collection agent makes this possibly the most interesting. I’ll have to wait to see………
As mentioned, I am not walking away from any of these but there is a price to pay for dishonesty and incompetence :cool:0 -

You are doing really well, I keep checking in to see what else you have won!
Can I make a comment/suggestion? Good stuff like this thread will help lots of others, and people search for things when they need help. However using different names for DCA's although very pleasurable is not going to help people when searching or if ey are new, nervous and not really sure about heir situation. 'Floorcroft' could easily be a company name, searching for NatWest is not going to bring people here when you call them Gnats Vest - as appropriate as it may be!
Just thinking your journey could help others, but in many cases it won't as its going to be pretty hard to search for your posts.
Carry on as you wish, it's your thread, but I believe you like helping others and enjoy passing on what you have found out and the methods you have used to put the DCA's back in their box.
Good luck on getting your reduced settlements with the rest of them, let us know how it goes0 -

It isn't actually my thread......I just seem to have nicked it!
Thanks for your good wishes. I come from a part of the site where disguising creditor's names is 'the form'......'the norm.' If we are talking about issues with a huge bank the chances of being 'spotted' have to be, admittedly very low. However, where we are talking about failing / insolvent / FCA-punished PayDay loan firms that may be a different matter. For the latter, I will avoid the name altogether and only report when I have finished the job. It's all history then!!
If I am honest, I would not be terribly comfortable with thousands of people landing on my posts because they searched the name of a huge clearing bank. I have been quoted in a national newspaper previously.....no problem....everybody seemed to be on my side but it makes you think.
My posts are for a group of chums with similar issues and are not meant to be announcements on the website homepage if you know what I mean.
