I couldn't tell what Martin's advise was. It seemed to me the advice was simply "do a budget", "make savings", and "spend less.".

To these I would add this: sell one of the properties Rosie and get the debt paid off.

I never saw it as I don't have a TV.

But to be truthful there are many people out there who just don't get it. They think they can have it all and never have to worry about the cost. Just bung it on a credit card. oops up to the limit then get another.

I don't think a debt is a joke. There are many people out there having sleeplessness nights over it. And she thinks it funny. But she makes money from it by writting a column about it.

If the banks and credit cards called all there debts in. There would be a lot of people sat on the pavement in there designer clothes. But no where to live and no car to drive.

Credit cards should be re-named debt cards. And then just then maybe might begin to look at it differently.

having watched the programme my impression is that rosie was treating it like a joke. there is no way she is going to do anything about her debt!

I suspect this programme came about because Rosie recently caught alot of flack after she admitted in an article in of the newspapers, about how much debt she was it. As she owned a few properties, every Tom, !!!!!! and Harry wrote in to comment on the debt. She was defending herself in the Sunday Times Homes section where she regularly writes about what it's like to be a landlady.

I wonder if she got a fee for doing the programme, to off-set against the debt? She certainly included her friends in the programme, and I wonder if Martin was an old journalistic friend?

This programme had me fuming and it was only the fact that Martin had a part in it that made me watch it until the end.

I understand that Martin has to make a living, but the Rosie programme made my blood boil for a number of reasons. She had money and spent it. She tied it up in property. That was her choice.

There are many 'common' people, by common I mean people who work full-time, pay a mortgage, support a family etc who would have been better placed in that programme. People who genuinely have money troubles. Rosie messed herself up and to top it off had a high income to do it with.

I treated Rosie as a joke. I didn't feel sorry for her at all. I was actually happy she'd messed herself up and was so clueless.

It's just a shame ITV don't realise there are many normal people out there who would benefit from Martin's help. But no, let's get a dim overpaid woman on.

Seeing that will help who exactly? She made herself look extremely stupid in my opinion.

How many people knew who Rosie Millard was before this program? i bet you do now!

Perhaps it i just me being cynical but,i think she wanted to raise her profile and maybe make a bit of extra money in the future by doing so.

She was obviously not in serious debt,as Martin said, she had a cashflow problem.

I thought the title was slighly missleading, but how many TV programs are going to show someone who is desparate and in serious debt, all these money makeover shows have people on who don't seem to give a hoot if they owe 20k,they explain how to cut down....but they never seem to explain how to pay it all back.

For the record,i still watch them all.
