Halifax cetelem help?

hi guys I bought a tv from dixons 4 years ago through halifax cetelem. The last payment should go out of my account on the 17th november this year and I am just wondering will the dd stop automatically or do I need to cancel it? I don't fancy paying more than I owe and I have tried to ring them but its ridiculous I was on hold for an hour and didn't even speak to anyone!

    hi
It should stop automatically but with the banks you never know when they will get it right or wrong. Play it safe - check that the last payment is made and cancel the DD anyway - prevent them from taking any more.

I'd say the same as John, just in case, always cancel the DD :)

  • thanks suzie I just worry that if I cancel the dd they may try and say I owe more but I know for a fact the last payment is due then as the first was 17 nov 2003 and it was for 48 payments
