Help payday loan fee

Last week, in desperation I applied for a payday loan with various companies. Although I wasn't approved my bank account has been hit with various charges, which according to research I have done, are those hidden fees which you don't notice when skimming over the terms and conditions.

Anyway I have contacted a couple of the companies asking for refunds but there's one company I can't find a website for - on my bank it says track-budget with a fee of £19.45. Can anyone tell me who this company is? I applied for that many loans I didn't take a note of who the companies were. Stupid I know.

The 19.45 could be something to do with trakkit - that's the same as their monthly fee, see:

Stop putting your bank account details into web sites that you know nothing about.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.
  • OP there is a reason nobody wants to lend you money - they don't believe you will pay them back.
Multi applications will not make this happen.

Why not make a new year resolution to visit the debt free wanabe forum and try to sort out your finances?
  • Good Lord! If the OP wanted a sermon they'd have gone to see their Vicar instead of posting up here. They didn't come here for a lecture but for some advice and suggestions. I'm sure they know where they went wrong, etc. so hardly any point making all those comments.

I've not used payday loans myself so I don't know about the process of applying for them but that doesn't mean I'm going to jump all over those who do.

Reverend Vicar here - do you not think my post useful or would you rather OP go down the payday route to ruin?
There is no point to your posting and no useful help to the OP but I will defend your right to have your opinion.

I didn't say they should. You can tell by their opening post that they already knew it was a mistake so there was no need to keep lecturing them, it's not like they said there's nothing wrong with getting as many PDLs as you can or something like that.

My post didn't offer the OP a practical solution but then neither did yours. They asked about that specific charge and not where to get a full debt makeover. However, I think it does help the OP to post something against them being slaughtered when they've come here for help, not a lecture.

  • If the OP has incurred charges which were not clearly and fairly disclosed BEFORE the OP was committed to paying them then they can complain to whoever charged them and, if necessary, to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

"OP" here. Thanks for the helpful replies, especially the one above and the ones that actually answered my actual query. For the unhelpful ones - do you really think I joined this forum for a lecture? You don't have a clue about my financial situation and if you had actually read my post fully you would have seen I admitted to being stupid and that I was desperate at the time. I have since stopped my debit card to prevent any future payments being taken.

That doesn't work if you have already authorised the payments. It just leaves you without a debit card.
