What job does the partner do?
Are they permanently employed and get sick pay? Is the employer ok about that?
Or are they self-employed?
Is the illness chronic? Might it get worse, better? Or reoccur constantly?
Why are you thinking of moving?

Can you afford the mortgage alone ?
Would your partner be moving with you ?
Have you calculated how much moving home would cost in legal fees, stamp duty, estate agent fees, removal costs etc ? Do yu have the thousands this will cost saved or would it come out of equity ?
Whose name is the mortgage in ?
Des your partner want to move - shouldn't their opinion be the one you are seeking rather than strangers on a forum ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Yes I'd move unless it made more sense to stay.
Honestly what are you expecting folk to say based on that info?Left is never right but I always am.0 -

Have you been overpaying the mortgage? If so I'd approach the bank to reduce the monthly outgoing and increase the term. As your family has already begun putting down roots I wouldn't move. Remember once you're on the ladder it's always best to stay on it no matter what. Do not even think of diceing with rented accommodation. You and your family deserve better and some landlords might look down their nose at your poorly partner.
Anyway best wishes for the future and a speedy recovery.0 -

Do you really expect people to be able to give any ideas / advice based on this limited information?
People have asked questions but you haven't answered them - do you want them to use a crystal ball?:hello:0 -
Protect your child's education and try to increase your income. Or find a job your partner can cope with. Sounds more like you need a friendly chat than someone telling you what to do.Been away for a while.0
