Hi pjk123,
When you say you have logged onto Gateway to do your return,is this the first time you will be doing online self-assessment?
If so,you use the Gateway site only to apply for a user ID.When this arrives,THEN you got to HMRC site to do your tax return.
Sorry if I have mis-understood,and you have done all this.
When I applied a couple of years ago to do tax online,it took about 10 days to receive my user ID,then I went to HMRC site and there is a link to start filling in SA form.
Hope this helpsSPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

hi, thanks for your reply.
No it's not my first time, it's my third. When i say log in, I use this link to log in
]https:// online.hmrc.gov.uk/login
once logged in, I simply cannot find any option to submit a tax return.

On that page,is there a link for "File a return for 2014-15".On my screen it is to the right.Because I have done my tax this afternoon, there is no link to "fill in self assessment " (or some-such title).
I originally started by going here:
https://online.hmrc.gov.uk/login
WHen I filled in my username and password, there was a link to start filling in form online.
Hope this helps.SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76

click on "Services you can use" (on the left) ... then on something like "self-assessment" ... then on something like "submit a tax return".0

there;s no option for a self assessment.
If i click on services I can add, then there's an option to enrol for self assessment, but if i click and try to do it, it says i'm already enrolled.0 -
curious ... having just logged in, my "services you can use" page does include "self assessment", and my "services you can add" page doesn't.0

I will call them on Tuesday and see what's wrong.
Thanks alot0 -
That's correct, if you've already done self assessment you've already added the service.grey_gym_sock wrote: »curious ... having just logged in, my "services you can use" page does include "self assessment", and my "services you can add" page doesn't.Big corporations take advantage of the unwary, it's time we learned how to deal with them:dance::dance::dance:Any comments are based on personal experience and interest in consumer matters, they do not constitute advice.0
