Has anyone had any dealing with mis-selling endowment with Barclays?

If so, could you please give me any tips / or advise as they have just denied my letter in a very unprofessional manner. Of course I will go further but would like to hear further experiences. Many thanks,

I complained a few years ago and was given the brush off. I was very busy at the time and just dropped it. However, I have written another letter today outlining my complaint again, and will see how it goes!!0

Yes, loads of experience.
They used to give everyone the brush off, you should complain to the FSA about their attitude, Abbey were fined for similar behaviour but I can't work out how the BIG bank gets away with the worst sales practices in the known Universe. If you don't know what you are talking about keep quiet0 -
When i complianed to Barclays there was absolutely no brush-off. An offer of compensation was made at first time of asking, although it took quite a while before I actually got the money.4kW 8.33 Eternity (2.5kW SSE 1.5kW WSW). Glinton, Cambridgeshire.0

I shall certainly keep on trying this time. When I complained before, I didn't really have the time to persist, but I will now. Their letter last time was very dismissive, I don't think it informed me that I could take the complaint further either.0

I sent a letter to Barclay's 2 weeks ago regarding my endowment mortagage and received a reply on Friday which had my reasons why i thought it was missold. Also enclosed was some forms to fill in and return, read the forms and was bit annoyed that the info they wanted they have access to probably better than i do having banked with them for over 20yrs.
Like others i am determined to follow it though as i think these forms are sent to try to discourage you from carrying on with your complaint.Waddle you do eh?0 -
Strange though it may seem to a Barclays customer their Barclays Life operation is 'separate' from the Barclays Bank operation, you may say 'what's the difference' and 'how did the life operation get hold of me' and then we start the confusion, it will be worse under their 'muti tie' operation and you can thank the FSA for creating what the bank wanted, quite why they wanted it is another mystery altogether. They always mess it up so why don't they let real advisers do the job properly instead of piling target after target on the managers and the counter staff? Well there lies another conundrum..If you don't know what you are talking about keep quiet0

I got a questionnaire to fill in from Barclays, including lots of questions that will be hard to answer, such as what were my incomings and outgoings when I took the mortgage out, and now. They also want to know what special rates have been applied to the mortgage since I took it out. I was wondering, do I have to give them all this information, and if it is in my best interest to do so. I mean, why do they need my current income? If I tell them that my mortgage has been on fixed/discounted rates, will this lower any compensation they might pay?0

Give them what you know. If you dont know it, you cannot supply it. It may take longer for the claim to be settled and some of it may effect the amount of the payout. However, there is no expectation that you will remember every detail.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Thanks, I'll have to dig around a bit and try to find the info.0
