Solar Panel Feed In Tariff - New build house

Evening,
I'm hoping someone can please help me.
I have bought a new build house and I'm due to complete on 8th January 2016.
Houses on the new estate have been been installed with PV Solar Panels and I understand as my sister has them that as well as getting cheaper rates you can get a 'feed in tariff' which is due to change in January 2016 to a much lower figure. I have a list of everything I need to send to my electricity supplier who builder have confirmed is scottish power but can someone clarify when exactly is the date that the feed in tariff changes as there's a lot of different dates when I'm researching it. I'm under the impression that although my panels have been installed in the last few months then that's not taken into account and I'm only registered from the date I actually send my forms etc - is that correct?
Any help would be much appreciated. X

You need the DNO not the utility supplier but your installer should do the paperwork as you need their info too - get on to the builder and ask them for contact details of the installer.
Best bet is to post on the Green and Ethical Money Saving Board though as that is where all things PV are discussed.I think....0
