  • I love these kind of threads at this time of the year! 2015 was the first year ever I had complete control of my finances and 2016 will be the year I improve on that and add in some resilience.

2016 will see my credit card debt continue to come down, it is all on 0% and will be paid off I don't have any emergency spending, and will at least cone down significantly if I don't. I'm hopeful of positive work news which would only help on that front.

I'm really looking forward to 2016. While we still have a high amount of debt, throughout 2015 we've managed to get all but £3000 of it on 0%, and we are able to throw at least £800 a month at it, so it will start coming down nicely now (all of the debt was on Apr ranging from 20%-35% for most of 2015) xx

  • I'm planning to pay off half of my £6k debt, and save as much as I can.

And perhaps ease up on the overtime/second jobs, and be kinder to myself.

Also hope to buy a house, and perhaps move in with my partner.

  • Yeh its going to be a good one. Im firmly in control of my finances now. £30k target net worth increase is between debt paid off and money saved. Im going to try and not go abroad in 2016 as i spent around £8k this year in doing so!! Eye watering amount really when you are in debt. Less holidays = more work and income so target should be achievable!

  • Feeling really positive going into 2016, going to carry on paying our debts off. Declutter the house, sort the garden out. Not do quite as much overtime as I'm doing at the moment, try to lose some weight and get healthy.

2016 will be the year I clear my debt. I am fairly close to paying off the capital but I then have to pay the interest/fees on top, that my folks have been covering for me to help me pay it down quicker.

I start a new job in Feb which has an increased salary and also a little closer to home. I will also be getting a car through work which will enable me to sell mine, although not for that much, but this will go towards paying off my debt.

I aim is to have everything paid back by Sept, which is when I plan to move back into my house. I am toying with idea of taking some equity out of my house to purchase a BTL, but I'm unsure with the changes that will come into effect in April.

I need to get into shape as well as I haven't done nearly enough exercise this year. It would also be nice to find a nice girl to settle down with but I wouldn't hold your breath on that one!

2016 will see me paying off loads of my debt. I'm aiming to reduce my total balance to around £34,000 from £50,000, but since this is a big target, I'd still be really happy to get to £40,000 instead!
Aiming to pay off £50,312.94 in less than 3 years - Starting from December 2015
Current debt total: £32,756.02 (as of 1st March 2018)
Date Free Date Aim: Summer 2019 (8 extra months needed :( )
  • No new year resolutions from me but, last cigarette was smoked on 20th December with the help of 'vaping' and no urges for wanting one so, all is good. Happy New Year all.

I'm having a good day so far :j

My OH has gone 9 weeks with no cigs and is vaping instead :T
    = £630 approx saved.

Yesterday I put £40 on electric so that's covered for February

I've submitted a gas reading this morning, bill due on 15 feb so its now paid and is £16 in credit

Hopefully got BT bill sorted out. It's been a headache trying to sort it out from november but should be there now.
Looks like nothing to pay for definitely 2 months due to over-payments and credits given back to the account (approx £190) as we've switched to monthly whole bill direct debit.
I'll still be budgetting for it ... Just In Case, lol.
