Well, it was one year yesterday that I last used credit to buy something. Just giving myself a pat on the back and posting to let you all know it can be done.

Well done, that's a great achievement. I'm constantly using it, paying it, using it, etc. etc. I keep saying I need to go to just a cash or debit card system but some of my credit cards offer cash back so I use the card but then instead of being disciplined to pay it off with the cash, I end up using the cash on something else. I'm going to try and do better.0

Congrats Ferry,
I too now live within my means, and do not intend using any kind of credit again.
I have nearly succumbed on one occasion, and it was not a nice feeling, never again do I want to be "under the cosh", or at a creditors beck and call, my goal is to save for a new car, and to start putting money in my savings account, (had one for 30 years, never been able to save before) so we will see how that goes.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Credit cards are useful for the extra protection they give eg when buying flights or buying large items. Just have to ensure you transfer the money across straight awayMortgage Free 20240
