British Gas Rant- Grrrrrr!

Quick Rant- I hope nobody minds.

Three months ago I owed British Gas nearly £1600. I was an ostrich and just ignored the MANY letters that came through my door.

After my LBM I went ebay mad- if it wasn't nailed down it went on ebay. I started paying BG at least £40 per month each for Gas and Electric from my wages, and then whacked all my ebay money onto it as well.

I thought I was doing really well- I even managed to chuck an extra £60 from my wages onto it this morning. The amounts I now owe are
£620 Gas (Was £970  )
£110 Electric (Was £617  )

Which is still lots of money but it's coming down.

Not fast enough for British Gits obviously. When I popped home for lunch I'd had a letter on each account telling me that legal action is imminent. Every time I phone them I seem to be banging my head against a brick wall. They've charged me £14 for each letter- which means the £60 I gave them this morning has had nearly half of it wiped straight away.

Grrrrrr.

Does anyone else sometimes think 'Stuff it why bother'? I mean- before I got home I was feeling delighted that I'd found an extra £60 to chuck at the debt. After I'd read their letters I couldn't help but think that my position wouldn't have been that different if I'd gone to town and blown the £60 on shoes/makeup/ a haircut.

hi there shell, i know what you mean, the interest on oh overdraft is crippling us - ive tried paying it in the past but at 30 quid a go im just paying off the bloody interest!! they cant take you to court while you are paying them - even if you were paying a pound a month they couldnt lol, just keep at it but to be honest, i think they are out of order, its probably not right what they are doing to you, give the citizens advice a ring as i think its foul play on their part.
    good luck xxx
