And also the nicest option too. I do mine in the food processor and they are whizzed up in no time at all.

Any supermarket or corner shop, but as has been mentioned make your own, you can use fresh or dry (older) bread if you have a hand blender with a mini chopper you can use that to crumb the bread, if not try grating or rubbing the bread until it crumbs.
You can lightly toast bread before crumbing, you can leave crusts on or remove, which every way suits you taste/recipe etc.. I have not bought breadcrumbs for more years than I can remember.

Also if you have bread going dry/old then crumb it stick it in a bag and freezer for later use.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.

    Try this ...

    BREADCRUMBS

    INGREDIENTS

    1 slice of bread

    METHOD

If you have a food processor, cut the bread into little pieces and process them for about 15 seconds.

If you have a grater, rub the bread against the grater.

If you don’t have a food processor or grater, rub the bread between your hands.

    TIPS

Breadcrumbs are best made with bread that it not quite fresh.

1 slice of bread makes approximately 100g of breadcrumbs.

You can make breadcrumbs as and when you have any left-over bread and then keep them in the freezer until you need them.

If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5? :)

The Polish section of Tesco if yours has one, a Polish shop ("bułka tarta" apparently - passim Google), or just leave a slice or more out overnight (away from pets, family etc) then attack ruthelssly with forks or mechanised chopping once has gone stale enough to crumble.
    Good luck!

Most supermarkets sell 'panko' or Japanese dry breadcrumbs. These work really well for bread sauce, as fresh can sometimes be gluey.

These are not the cheapest but by far the best. We get ours in the Chinese supermarket.

Waitrose does fresh breadcrumbs. Think it's in the fresh food section of the chilled area.

I only know this as I overheard a guy who was asking for dried breadcrumbs just the other day. What I did understand they don't do dried.

I like making my own breadcrumbs cos I like the "rustic" look :) (I don't have a food processor) and I can add garlic/herbs/onion/whatever herb or spice I like :) But I have to say, I still make scotch/savoury eggs with "golden breadcrumbs" i.e. shop bought - they give a more even "shop bought" finish. They're usually found in the same aisle as gravy granules or stuffing and I know that Tesco and Morries both do their own brand, but also sell Paxo. I believe that the only reason they're "golden" is from the addition of turmeric and paprika extract so if I ever do get a food processor, I may try making my own :)
