Have also switched banks so have a £100 gift card on its way (but won't count it yet)
New total: £37.51
My gift card arrived on Friday (that's mothering Sunday and other birthdays sorted for the year) used £30 restaurant vouchers on Friday evening and have £2 on my Works card (will be spent very soon) Ocado delivery came early on Saturday so he refunded me for 99 bags instead of 8 as I'd done him a favour so £4.55 bonus.
New total: £174.060 -
23p interest :j
(to be fair the account was opened in the dying days of January and I only deposited £500ish).
75p's worth of nectar points, most of them bonus points for personal care products and fruit that I would've bought regardless.
£84, as I am already guaranteed to exceed my self-imposed overtime allowance in this challenge for February
Updated total £269.02.
So for the purposes of this challenge I'm bang on target (if I counted 100% of my overtime I wouldn't need to do anything else, but that would be a very boring and pointless set of updates). But as far as making money through using the computer is concerned I'm still unsure. Online banking and always being on the right bank account at the right time is probably worth £150 over the coming year to me (but even if it was worth nothing in interest it's something I can't believe I haven't been doing for longer anyway, for budgetary reasons). Swagbucks has made me £40 so far, but to be honest I think 30SB a day will be my lot, which equates to about £5-7 a month. As with the other day I'll look at big ticket offers where I have a reason to consider them, but I do not have the time to invest in the sort of SBs necessary to make big bucks through streaks, given the unpredictability of polls. YouGov on the other hand will be worth £100 to me this year (£50 every eight months but I have enough points to get two £50s in 2016), but it's hassle free - dedicate the amount of time to it that the poll states and job done. Those three sources will take me to about half way to making a profit on my shiny new machine through using it.
But beyond that is where the fun will be. £500 on a computer without eBay (behavior I would have adopted anyway) or polling (Swagbucks and YouGov is as much polling as I'll put up with) seems like a challenge.
