I'm guessing 600 dollars so far. The items were bought a few weeks ago and I can't remember where they are.

    I think I need a plan B !

About the same as usual – say, £150 among eight people.

There is always some resistance among everyone in the family to spend a lot on presents – we'd rather get hold of small, unique presents that may be a little tricky to find, or even make things ourselves. One of my sisters is a children's book illustrator, and the other sister and b-i-l are photographers, so they can produce beautiful things for a start (without even that much effort)…

We tend not to buy generic things like TVs, IPhones or kettles, which are available everywhere and which people can easily buy for themselves.
