Hi - I just read "Plus we reveal which giants boosted sales last winter from their original discount" in this week's MSE email. Does anyone know what it means to say that sales were boosted? It sounds like the shops took more money, but I cannot see what use that would be to readers. Maybe it means discounts or prices were boosted, but there is no indication of which. Can anyone help?

Some shops increased the discount in the sales, i.e. on sale at 50%, boosted to 70% discount from boxing day#141 - Save £3k in 2016 challenge - #141
Current savings: £901.06 / £3k

Thanks NectarCollector. So just to clarify, that means the discount is increased. Is that correct?0

Yes- it's what I'd call the tail end of the sale and the bit most worth waiting for if you can!0
