Temporarily unable to pay debts

Hi Guys
I recently changed jobs due to relocating. I found a job almost immediately. but for the 1st 6 months of the employment I would receive only a probation hourly rate (common in most jobs) which meant I would be receiving approx £30 less per week. Which is acceptable as it's only a temporary loss of earnings

However due to the temp loss, After immediately important bills are paid i'm not left enough to pay my debts. Is there anything I can do in regards to letting them know i'm unable to pay for a temporary period of time?

thanks in advance for anyone's help.

    Hi Mart

Assuming you can't find enough savings elsewhere to offset this £30/week earnings drop, you'll need to write to your creditors explaining your position. Enclose a personal budget (aka Statement of Affairs) reflecting your current circumstances.

Be aware that if creditors reduce your payments and/or freeze interest, even temporarily, they may report this to the credit reference agencies.

Budget and letter templates can be found on our website as well as those of the other debt advice charities.
