Amazon not using Gift Card balance for my order

Ordered a camera from Amazon Warehouse yesterday and collected it today from a Pass My Parcel pickup point. I was surprised when I looked at the invoice to see that my credit card has been charged and neither the promotional credit nor the gift card balance on my account were used. I've had a chat session during which CS told me that gift card balances are not used towards items delivered to pickup locations. There's nothing about this in the gift card T&Cs, so I'm wondering if what I was told was BS. Also wondering if gift cards can be used towards Warehouse Deals?

I've never heard of this and when I did have an Amazon Prime only ever got items delivered to Amazon lockers (not sure if this has the same rules as the pick-up points). I only ever used gift vouchers I had, I've not used a card to pay on Amazon for years and have not had to. But I've not used the Warehouse, only the general Amazon site.


Maybe the difference is that, as I already know, sometimes if the products come from Amazon rather than a third party vouchers are not accepted for whatever reason (sometimes they are accepted, sometimes not it just depends on the third party in question). Maybe Amazon Warehouse also has some third party sellers but they don't make it obvious like they do on the main site or maybe the warehouse just operates from a different part of the business and isn't as united to the main brand as the impression gives.
