Doing a NVQ

Hi,

I was just wondering if you could give me some advice. I currently work for DWP on a 18 month contract but I'm looking at doing a online NVQ course in admin.

I was just wondering if anyone has done one and the best company to use.

Thanks in advance.

Amy

Can you do online Business Admin NVQ's? I ask because I've done 2 NVQ's in this field and for both of them, was assessed in my workplace by an assessor. She did observations and watched me work which confirmed that I was competent. How would this work with an online qualification?

Remote NVQs are possible. My observations are done through expert witness testimony from line manager and back up observations from colleagues, plus anonymised work products which can be verified if necessary.
Personally I think it's open to abuse, but it's cheaper so that's the option my company went for. I have never met my assessor - we email or have phone conversations as needed.
Different field, so I can't recommend anyone, bit it's the full city and guilds qualification.
My suggestion would be to look at the back up if you need support.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Have you looked at Vision 2 Learn - https://www.vision2learn.com. They offer free Level 2 Business Admin NCFE certificates (when successfully completed!). That could help towards the Knowledge and Understanding evidence for an NVQ.

    "My bad."
    I'll correct my earlier post.

V2L used to (2011) offer an IT NVQ (ITQ) but now seem to offer just L1 and L2 certificates.
