What to do with these?

Hi there everyone..its me again...I have just having a spring clean in my kitchen and found a bag of green lentils and white maize meal. what can I do with them? I think they were brought by a friend at some point. It just seems a waste not to use them... idea would be very much appreciated. thank you and have a nice day!!!:p

  • I think green lentils are meant to be good with either white fish or salads.

    white maize meal i think you make bready types things with like dumplings for your stews or i believe you can make a porridge with it. Sorry not sure of recipes though.

    If you like polenta you could make up the white maize meal the same way.

    Mealie meal is eaten as a staple food (cooked as stywe pap, putu or krimmelpap) in Africa and is yummy with a nice spicy tomato and onion sauce with it. It's also the same thing as grits which is eaten in America.
