Hi All
I'm currently filling in my self assessment online and want to claim for working from home. But for the life of me I cant find where the section for this is.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I had the same issue last year and ended up giving up and not claiming.
Thanks

Are you employed or self employed?0

I'm employed0

Is WFH in your contract? If it isn't, you wont be able to claim anything0

Yes.
I'm happy my claim is legitimate, I just wanted to know if anyone knew where on the actual self assessment you have to add this.
Thanks0 -
Employment expenses will go on the employment page (SA102) you would need to fill out for the job you're working from home from.
Normally boxes 17 to 20 depending on what you're claiming.
I know you said your claim is appropriate (but that won't stop HMRC messing you around), but I suggest being careful as S336 ITEPA 2003 (employment expenses) claims are subject to close scrutiny by HMRC.
Though under £4 pw / 18 pcm they don't normally bother checking.
For detailed information / advice google 'HMRC SA102 notes page en3', or 'eimanual HMRC' or 'section 336 ITEPA 2003 employment expenses'.
Last piece of advice don't rely on the Gov Uk website as some of the tax advice on their is just plain wrong (or at least misleading)0
