Looking for a Bundt cake recipe in 'English' please!

Options
Hello everyone

I found the cutest Bundt Pan/Tin in a charity shop yesterday and would love to have a go at making a Bundt cake now. Can anyone recommend a recipe with easily available ingredients that don't cost the earth and with English-type measurements? I am not a baker and I just cannot get my head around cups of flour and cups of milk etc and most of the recipes I have found so far are all American stylee. I quite fancy a lemon flavoured one but am not too fussy so long as it doesn't cost the earth and is simple to follow!

Any help would be much appreciated! :)

Simply Nigella Christmas from the beginning of this week had a bundt recipe. The programme (still available on Iplayer) gave the substitutions for a lemon and an orange variant IIRC, though the published recipe is cider and 5 spice

Ina Garten does a Bundt cake - you should find the recipe on the 'Food Network' website.
oh, and I think she also uses the Bundt tin for angel food cake and a couple of other recipes.

Ive just had a look on Food Network for you - you will be spoilt for choice! over 1200 recipes mention 'Bundt cake tin' so here is the link

  • coincidence. I made a bundt this morning and I used nigellas vanilla recipe. It turned out fabulous. Just need to make absolutely sure that the tin is well greased. I used the lakeland spray and a pastry brush. My tin is a christmas wreath and also 2.4 litre size. It popped out perfectly

just to add that it was very easy to make

if you're struggling to find a Bundt cake recipe you might find better results for "ring cakes" that's what some people call them instead apparently..

Many thanks everyone....Nigella's vanilla recipe sounds like a good and easy starting point, then maybe get a bit more adventurous. Not too sure about size of tin and quantities tho....my Bundt tin only measures 18cm across and contains about 0.75 ltr in quantity so a bit of scaling down needed methinks! I'm quite looking forward to having a bash at this now....must be quite exciting when you get to the 'popping out' stage!!!

I used the Hummingbird's recipe - equal quantities of all ingredients, inc eggs weighed in shells - plus the sets if 2 lemons and hold back on some of the sugar. I then use the leftover sugar and the lemon juice to syrup the finished product. This works well with oranges too.

I also make more wet batters that don't need syruping.
