Advice needed for DCA settlement.......

I have an old overdraft which I defaulted on a few years back....it was for just over 2k. Its been sent to a DCA called Lowell.

I am now trying to sort out my old debts by trying to settle them one by one.

I offered them 700 pounds as a full and final settlement and they have responded today by offering a 15% discount only which would mean they want £1859 as the final settlement figure.

I don't have that much money to settle at that rate, the most I could put together right now is probably about 1500 pounds.

Was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to respond with a counter offer of around 1300 perhaps? Would this be a good idea or am i wasting my time? Should i just offer respond and try to negotiate a further discount?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
