Past Christmas 'Disasters' ?

We've had a few near miss disasters with Christmas dinners (whether on Xmas day or not)
- Mum left cling film on the stuffing - had to peel the melted plastic off!
- At uni - my housemates burnt the carrots - boiled carrots - yes, boiled! It ran out of water and they didn't realise, it set the smoke alarm off, well one of those massive fire alarms.
- Sister in law a few years ago was making Christmas dinner - a friend's Christmas dinner not on Christmas, she put the turkey in and put it into grill with a fan instead of oven! In her own house! Luckily it had foil on top so didn't burn, it just took a bit longer to cook!
One Boxing Day night someone tried to break into our house, it looked like they used a crow bar to smash our front door window so they could unlock the door. But something must have scared them off as they could have easily come in as we only had a Yale lock then, we never locked the bottom lock - we did after that though!0 -
4 years ago my Grandmother who had been acting increasingly 'strange' decided to go home literally just as we were dishing up the meal from the oven because 'we were playing music in order to hypnotise her'. There was nothing on! She was sectioned a few weeks later and her dementia became worse and last year she was taken into hospital and then sent to an assessment centre on Christmas Eve. Now in a Nursing Home, we are hoping she can come to us for a short while on xmas day.0
